I am Marco Durand, computational designer (TU Delft & IAAC)
With a strong passion for combining creativity and technology and specialized in computational design, I am currently looking for a new challenge to start my professional career and to continue developing my knowledge and skills. Throughout my studies, I developed a keen interest in parametric and data-driven design, which I believe holds the key to shaping the future of architecture and the physical world we live in. I am eager to continue putting to practice my knowledge, and, moreover, to continue expanding it.

EDUCATION
Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia | 2024 - 2025
Master in Advanced Computation for Architecture & Design

After having found my passion for parametric and data driven design, MaCAD was a logical next step. While exploring a wide range of tools and applications, ranging from training LLM's and machine learning models to automating BIM workflows and creating a Rhino copilot, I graduated with a GPA of 9.1/10.
Delft university of Technology | 2021 - 2024
Bachelor of Architecture & Built Environment

Ranked 2nd in the QS world ranking for Architecture studies is Delft University of Technology. I graduated among the few top students of my year with a GPA of 8.2/10.
Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences | 2019 - 2020
Bachelor of International Business & Management

I completed the first year of a Bachelor’s program and achieved a foundation degree with a grade of 8.0/10 (Cum Laude). However, I found that the program did not provide the level of challenge I was seeking and did not allow me to explore my creative and technical abilities. As a result, I made the decision to switch to the field of Architecture.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences | 2020 - Current
Quantitative Methods & Statistics Teacher

After receiving an exceptional 10/10 for this course as a first year student, I had been asked to help the staff in the following  academic years. In addition to assisting teachers during workshops, I personally hosted support classes, coordinated the teacher assistants and wrote a 200 pages manual for the course.
Roth Architecture - Mexico | 2024
Architectural intern

Gained hands-on experience in architectural design, focusing on biophilic and organic architecture, while developing computational design skills through parametric modeling, master plan optimization, and facade design, with significant responsibility in a collaborative, professional environment.
Freelance | 2024 - Current
Design architect & Computational designer
The past few years I have been working on a variety of projects as freelancer. From creating supporting grasshopper workflows to actual architectural design for mainly international residential projects
EXTRACURRICULAR
St. Justin’s Primary School, Tanzania | 2021 - Current
Crowdfunding initiator & Project Ambassador
While volunteering in Tanzania, I felt the urge to contribute more than only teaching children at this school. Therefore, I organized a successful crowdfunding campaign. Thanks to this, the school now has two new classrooms which helps to provide education to 60 additional children. I still remain involved in the project as ambassador.
